VOLUNTEER now. We need you!!
What is Greater Chenango Cares?
It is a partnership with the Department of Defense to provide an opportunity for residents of Chenango County and our adjacent neighboring counties to participate in a no-cost military training program known as Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) to be held July 13-22, 2015.
What is an Innovative Readiness Training (IRT)?
Innovative Readiness Training provides real world training opportunities for our service members to prepare them for wartime and disaster missions, while supporting the needs of America’s underserved communities.
What services are provided at NO-COST and how do I participate?
- Dental: This service must be pre-scheduled
Cleanings, Fillings, Fluoride Treatments, Sealants and Simple Extractions
Risk Assessment for: risk factors for Diabetes, High Blood Pressure. Nutrition Counseling, Pain Management, etc.
Testing for Cataracts, Glaucoma and Macular Degeneration. Visual examinations for single-focal distance or reading prescription glasses. Your choice of one pair of prescription glasses (distance or reading) manufactured on-site for pick-up and fitting. No charge! Last day to pick-up glasses morning of July 23rd.
- Veterinary : This service must be pre-scheduled
Spay, Neuter and Rabies Vaccinations for companion animals (dogs/cats only)
*No narcotics administered for any the above services.
No residency, income or insurance requirements for any services. Walk-ins welcome for Medical and Optical Services.

Want to volunteer at the event?
Approximately 900 civilian volunteers will be needed from our area to assist our service personnel at this amazing event. We anticipate serving between 5,000 and 7,000 patients and volunteers will be critical to the success of this event. We really NEED your help!
