RECENT AND UPCOMING EVENTS
Greater Chenango Cares and the upcoming IRT
Thank you so much for agreeing to serve as a volunteer for the Greater Chenango Cares IRT event!!! We have appreciated your patience and understanding as our Chenango United Way office of three has worked to recruit more than 750 volunteers over the last six weeks!
Here are the important facts you need to know before next week, if you have already registered to volunteer:
- Volunteer parking will be near the baseball fields behind the Norwich Middle School and next to Golden Artist Colors. To get there, you will need drive down the dirt road off of Hale St. to the right of Golden Artist Colors along the Susquehanna River in Norwich. Please be aware that it is a bit of a walk to the High School. Those who are disabled can park closer to the High School, but there are only a very few spots reserved for handicapped volunteer parking there. Please only use these spots if you absolutely need to. There will be signs directing you to Volunteer Parking.
- Morning shift volunteers (7:00am-12:30pm) must report at 7:00am and afternoon shift volunteers (11:30am-5:00pm) must report at 11:30am. Volunteer check in will be in Rm 24 of the Norwich Middle School but you will enter the school through the High School gym lobby entrance on Midland Ave. We will do an orientation with you before you go to your assigned volunteer station.
- NO food and drink will be allowed in the gymnasium and volunteers are not allowed to have food or drinks at their volunteer stations unless a medical condition requires it. All food and drink must be remain in the volunteer break room only. Lunch will be provided for volunteers between 11:00am-1:00pm and volunteers will need to take advantage of this either at the end of their morning shift or before their afternoon shift begins.
Thank you again for agreeing to volunteer with the Greater Chenango Cares IRT. We believe that this will be the biggest event to impact our community this year. Please know that every single one of you is appreciated!
Our Volunteer Get Connected website will be closed as of 4:00pm today, Friday, July 10, 2015 to allow us to prepare for next week’s events. We will be looking into allowing additional volunteers to register on-site at the IRT next week at the end of each shift. If you have already registered, please check with us at the end of your shift to see if any additional volunteer slots have become available for you to sign up for.
